DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS

Oh what a great time we had in Dallas! TJ loves taking the kids to away BYU games. So this year we decided to go to the TCU/BYU game in Fort Worth, and what a fabulous excuse to go home! We arrived on Thursday afternoon - and headed out passed our old house and onto the Stockyards. I was amazed the kids didn't remember more, but that was okay, because by the end of the weekend, they were starting to remember a few little things.

So we ate lunch at Riscky's BBQ, watched the cattle drive and headed for the souvenir shops. Then drove over to the tailgate party and game. NOW for all of you who know what an avid BYU fan I AM NOT!!!! I do have some explaining to do about the sweatshirt. You see, when I got dress I put on a purple sweater - well purple just happens to be the color of the horned frogs- so even though I'm not so much a BYU fan, as I just really am not a TCU fan - so like the forthcoming election, I was choosing the "lesser" of 2 evils. We met Rob and Casey at the game and although it was a complete slaughter it didn't even matter because we got to be with them.

Friday we got up and decided to go to the State Fair with Big Tex. This was something we never did when we lived there, but SOO fun! The girls and I found a Loreal Tent that was offering free make-overs - and of course that's where we ended up. We also saw a dog show, a motor cycle daredevil, car show, and Ky and Mason "worked" on the farm. After that we headed to Papasito's for dinner.

Saturday we went to the Butterfly Festival in Grapevine, shopping at Grapevine Mills, then went over through Southlake, Keller, and our old neighborhood. I tried to get a picture of the house, but the family who lives there was outside and TJ didn't want to stop. We met up with Steph and Carol and their families (friends from American) for dinner.

This mosiac is made totally out of butterfly wings.

Sunday, we headed over the church with Rob and Casey and spent a great day with them. Later, we had dessert with the LaFleur's, Tallmadge's, Clark's, King's, and Furniss's. It was amazing to see how everyone had grown so much - but sorry, I didn't get any pics from this event.

Monday, we went over to Outdoor World - and TJ signed up for a trip to Branson, MO - it only cost $60, and all we have to do is go listen to a little show about their resort. We have heard great things about Branson, so it will be a fun little get away.
