THE WINDY CITY

In a effort to have some "quality time" with his wife, my wonderful hubby took me away to my favorite city for the weekend - CHICAGO. And, the bonus, was my parents met us there! He showed up with a box of chocolates from Chicago - still not sure where he found those - and a new suitcase and told me to pack my bags.

He and my dad and planned the whole surprise weekend and neither myself nor my mom knew. When we arrived in Chicago, I walked out of the bathroom and saw my dad crossing the terminal, and I knew there was more to my surprise.

We stayed at the Marriott on the Mag Mile. Since my parents lived in Chicago for Dental school, we headed over to Northwestern first thing. If any of you know my dad, you will know he always has an agenda - and that's what you get to do!

Saturday we had the amazing opportunity to go to a Cub's game. TJ has a friend who used to date the head chef for the Cubs and he got us tickets about 20 rows behind home plate - it was awesome! That night, we headed over the Navy Pier for dinner and to enjoy all the people. It was so crowded, but fun. We walked down to the end and found some open space where there weren't too many people.

Sunday, we decided to keep it easy, so we went on a bus tour. Which was really fun, the Ethnic Sights Tour took us out to see Oprah's studios, smaller than I imagined, but fun. We also saw Millennium Park and the "bean", Sears Tower, Soldier Field, Nat. History Museum, Drake Hotel and a ton of other sights. The Drake Hotel is kind of a legend for our family. When my parents were at school, my grandfather used to come to Chicago for sales meetings all the time. One time while there were visiting they took my parents out to dinner at the Drake - very exclusive! During dinner, my brother picked up a dinner roll and chucked it across the dining room.

Monday, of course is always the bummer since you have to go home, but we stopped by the Ghiradelli store on our way out to make sure we had sustenance for the ride home!

He SPOILS me way too much, and he certainly deserves a much more thoughtful wife! Love you tons sexy!! Thanks a million.
