OK - now the fun is really beginning - and we are caught up! This week they have been hanging the trim and the doors. They sure to do work fast, but we're not exactly sure that fast is good when it comes to finish carpentry. I guess the major downfall to always doing it yourself is that you see how much more you care about your work, than when someone is just "doing their job". I think this part is driving TJ crazy.
Crown in Stairwell
Chair railing in stairwell - they weren't too happy when I came and told them they had done it wrong and had to rip it down and hang it again!! Where it lined up with the stairs at the bottom, it is supposed to angle up and follow the line of the stairs and then straighten up and end at the top of the stairs, rather than end halfway up the stairs. It looked so dumb, I don't know why they didn't call the builder and ask. But hey - isn't the customer always right??!!
Chair rail in the entry. We are going to do a double box design here that I think will look amazing and will eventually add crown in the entry as well. It will be repeated in the dining room and up the stairs on a smaller scale. I can't wait to see it finished!!

The doors throughout the house are all the same and the hardware will be oil rubbed bronze finish. The designer we have been working with loving referred to our house as the "Castle". I had told her my style was Elegant Rustic. So she envisioned a castle when I told her this. It made TJ and me laugh.
